How do you get content from clients/content teams seamlessly into designs?February 12, 2020 at 6:53pm
I'm looking for ideas.
As a UI/UX designer, I am regularly creating websites that require someone other than myself to do the copywriting for.
How do you get content from clients/content teams seamlessly into designs? I would LOVE to hear your processes for solving this problem.
Solutions I use that I DON'T think are very effective:
- Create a content framework in google docs:
--Pros-- It allows easy editing and version control for multiple users. It has easy view/editing permissions control for admins. --Cons-- The hierarchy of content in relation to website formatting can be difficult to communicate. It is difficult to translate content from a google doc directly to a web design The content has to be manually copied and pasted into each box on a design
- Using Acrobat or AdobeXD to create shareable online wireframes and allow commenting:
--Pros-- Editors can clearly communicate where content should be placed and what content should say. Public design links can be created so anyone can comment without an account. --Cons-- If an editor doesn't have an adobe account, it often is not possible to go back and edit comments later. The commenting method can be confusing to clients and hinder the process.
