I'm stuck with a layout where every page is a `directory/index.md`

I want to use remark-validate-links so I tried changing the readme regex to Which sort-of worked, but relative anchor links are still failing: Where concepts/index.md has a link to ../backup#velero. Any tips to how I can make this work?
