Is Micro abandonware?

October 2, 2019 at 5:03am

I tried to build and deploy serverless functions tonight using Micro and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to deploy it until I found a thread on here or in GitHub issues where someone revealed they made their own build tool, whereas Zeit has not released an official build tool. Has Micro been abandoned in favor of the new "api" folder structure?

I use micro in tons of projects. I install to my server and configure it for my apps. I'm not sure what issue you're having? It's just a micro node.js framework.

What build tool are you referring to or would like to see?

If you are referring to Now 2.0, micro is put aside in favor of functions like https://zeit.co/blog/now-node-helpers. So as you can see, both micro and the helpers are very similar.

How would I set the context? I am spent 2 days researching this already

I guess you guys really want me to use AWS. I was willing to pay the costs once I made the app production ready. Not anymore. It's becoming a hassle.

Can you elaborate a little? We don't expose the context of the lambda to the user. What are you looking for, exactly?

We are here to answer any questions or concerns. If you want, you can also email support@zeit.co. This is a little unrelated to the original post and you can create a new thread on https://spectrum.chat/zeit?tab=posts with your concerns.

I want to maintain the database connection through the functions lifetime, this way I do not need to establish need new connections.
